New industry-first security solution protects organizations from future quantum threats
Cloudflare, a leading connectivity cloud company, has launched the industry’s first cloud-native, quantum-safe Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution. The platform enables businesses to secure their communications from quantum threats, with expanded protocol support arriving by mid-2025.
With quantum computing advancements threatening traditional encryption methods, Cloudflare’s solution allows organizations to transition to post-quantum cryptography seamlessly. This eliminates the need for individual system upgrades, ensuring long-term data security across corporate networks.

Urgency of Quantum-Safe Encryption
Today’s encryption secures everything from financial transactions to government communications, but experts warn that quantum computers could soon break these protections. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has set a 2030 deadline for transitioning to post-quantum cryptography, as risks could emerge within five years.
Cloudflare has been a pioneer in post-quantum security, offering free, default protection to customers and contributing to the development of industry standards.

With this launch, Cloudflare’s Zero Trust platform will provide:
- Protection against “harvest-now, decrypt-later” attacks – Cybercriminals can store encrypted data now and decrypt it later when quantum computers become powerful enough. Cloudflare’s post-quantum cryptography ensures long-term data security.
- Quantum-safe corporate web applications – Businesses can secure applications like HR systems, payroll, and collaboration tools without individually upgrading each one.
- End-to-end quantum-safe encryption for corporate networks – By mid-2025, Cloudflare will secure all IP-based protocols via its WARP device client, ensuring post-quantum protection across offices, cloud environments, and datacenters.
Cloudflare’s quantum-safe Secure Web Gateway and clientless Access network configurations are available immediately, with full protocol support launching in 2025.
