AVEVA Showcases AI-Driven Climate Impact in 2024 Sustainability Report

AVEVA

With 93% emissions reduction and new metrics for saved and avoided emissions, AVEVA accelerates industrial sustainability through software innovation

AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, has unveiled its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting major strides in leveraging industrial intelligence to meet pressing global climate goals. The report reinforces AVEVA’s commitment to driving measurable environmental impact through its software, which empowers clients to operate more efficiently and sustainably.

Now in its fifth year, the report outlines progress across AVEVA’s three-pillar sustainability strategy: technology handprintoperational footprint, and inclusive culture. Among its standout achievements, the company maintained a 93% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions—a milestone achieved by adopting renewable energy, optimizing real estate and fleets, and operational streamlining.

“We believe that sustainability and business success go hand in hand.”
— Caspar Herzberg, CEO, AVEVA

Importantly, 2024 also saw AVEVA complete green product design maturity assessments for 100% of its software portfolio, aligning development practices with the Green Software Foundation’s principles. Simultaneously, 85% of AVEVA products underwent power bench testing to quantify their energy consumption, setting the groundwork for long-term optimization and sustainability benchmarking.

A notable first in this year’s report is AVEVA’s introduction of a “saved and avoided emissions” metric, representing actual energy savings observed in a subset of its industrial software deployments. This pioneering disclosure aims to provide tangible proof of the emissions reductions customers achieve using AVEVA’s solutions.

“As we approach the final year of our 2025 targets, we’re sharpening our focus on scaling our impact,” said Lisa Wee, AVEVA’s CSO. “The real power of our sustainability journey lies in the hands of our customers. By enabling them with better visibility and smarter insights, we’re helping entire industries transition toward a low-carbon, circular economy.”

Caspar Herzberg, CEO of AVEVA, emphasized the company’s long-standing belief that software innovation can unlock cost, resource, and emissions savings across the industrial value chain. “This report is a testament to how deeply we’re embedding sustainability into our business and into the technologies we deliver worldwide.”

As AVEVA continues to evolve its digital sustainability framework, the 2024 report reflects a pivotal shift—making sustainability not just a corporate commitment, but a core outcome of its AI-enriched industrial solutions.
