Legaline Launches AI-Powered Courtroom Simulator for Legal Training in MENA

Meta Legal Space recreates courtroom proceedings with AI judges, witnesses and opposing counsel, giving law students and trainees a risk-free environment to practise litigation, arbitration and mediation.

Legal technology is moving beyond research and document drafting into practical skills development, with UAE-based Legaline Platform launching Meta Legal Space, an AI-powered courtroom simulator, at the Dubai AI Festival on October 26, 2026.

The platform, which Legaline describes as MENA’s first AI-powered mock trial, is designed to help law students and legal trainees develop courtroom skills in a virtual environment that simulates the unpredictability of live proceedings. Participants can argue cases before an AI judge, interact with an AI clerk and witnesses, and face opposing counsel powered by AI or played by a classmate.

Unlike scripted simulations, Meta Legal Space is designed to make witness responses dynamic. Each witness has a defined background, profession and behavioural profile, while answers remain within the facts of the case. Trainees must use questioning and cross-examination to uncover information that witnesses do not initially volunteer.

“Meta Legal Space moves that first attempt to a place where mistakes are allowed.” — Dmitry Grinik, Founder and CEO, Legaline Platform

“Many lawyers conduct their first cross-examination with a real client’s case on the line, and it is the client who pays for any mistake,” said Dmitry Grinik, Founder and CEO of Legaline Platform. He said the simulator allows trainees to experience interruptions, objections and challenging witness responses before handling a real case.

Before each session, participants can select litigation, arbitration or mediation, alongside the applicable legal framework: UAE onshore, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) or Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). Cases are developed by practising lawyers and rated for difficulty and duration, enabling instructors to match exercises to trainees’ experience.

The initial case library covers commercial, civil and labour disputes. Scenarios include supply-contract disagreements involving delay claims and damages, construction-defect disputes requiring documentary and expert evidence, and an unfair-dismissal claim before the DIFC Small Claims Tribunal.

Following each session, participants receive a performance report assessing argumentation, procedural compliance and objection handling. Results can be compared on a leaderboard, while licensed practitioners from Legaline’s network can act as judges and evaluate hearings in real time. The platform supports both supervised classroom instruction and individual practice.

Alexander Ilduganov, Co-founder and General Partner of Legaline Platform, said courtroom performance often depends on responding to unexpected witness testimony rather than simply knowing the law. “In Meta Legal Space, witnesses don’t answer on cue,” he said, describing the ability to practise questioning under pressure as a central feature of the system.

Jouslin Khairallah, Founder and Managing Director of KH Legal and Founding Member of Legaline Platform, said the platform addresses the gap between legal education and the expectations placed on trainees when they first appear before a judge.

Legaline is offering Meta Legal Space to law schools and legal training providers across the region, with free registration for students. The simulator joins the company’s existing AI tools, including Baby Legal Bot for legal learning, an AI Research Assistant covering 35 legal areas, and Legaline Docs, which generates draft contracts, letters and pleadings for lawyer review in around 15 seconds.

The launch reflects a broader opportunity for AI in legal education: providing repeatable, lower-risk practice while leaving professional judgement and legal responsibility with qualified practitioners.
