Huawei has appointed Corey Deng as Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Officer (CSPO) for its Middle East and Central Asia region, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening cybersecurity governance and privacy frameworks across the region.
In his new role, Deng will lead Huawei’s regional cybersecurity and privacy strategy, overseeing initiatives spanning data protection, AI security, compliance, and enterprise-wide governance. He will also work closely with customers, partners, and regulators to enhance Huawei’s end-to-end cybersecurity assurance systems and support the region’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
“Cybersecurity and privacy are foundational to building a trusted digital ecosystem,” said Phillip Gan, President, Huawei.
Deng brings more than 18 years of experience within Huawei, having joined the company in 2008. His career spans technical, commercial, and leadership roles across global markets. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Officer at Huawei’s Digital Power Business Unit headquarters. He has also held senior roles in Europe, including Cybersecurity Director and Vice President of Solutions Sales in the UK, as well as Solutions Sales Director in the Netherlands. Earlier in his career, he worked in research and development as a marketing manager and IC chipset designer.
The appointment comes at a time when the Middle East and Central Asia face an increasingly complex threat landscape shaped by rapid digital adoption and evolving geopolitical dynamics. Expanding digital infrastructure and cloud adoption have significantly increased the attack surface, prompting organisations to rethink traditional security models.
“As digital transformation accelerates, trust must remain central to innovation,” said Corey Deng, Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Officer, Huawei.
Huawei emphasised the need for next-generation security approaches, including sovereign AI infrastructure and quantum-safe technologies, to address emerging risks. Under Deng’s leadership, the company plans to further integrate cybersecurity and privacy into its products, solutions, and internal governance practices.
The move reflects Huawei’s broader strategy to build a secure and trustworthy digital environment across the region, supporting governments and enterprises as they accelerate digital transformation while maintaining resilience against evolving cyber threats.
