Acronis has introduced Acronis GenAI Protection, a new solution designed to help managed service providers (MSPs) monitor, control, and secure generative AI usage across client environments.
The offering addresses growing concerns around data leakage, shadow AI adoption, and prompt manipulation as businesses increasingly integrate generative AI tools into their operations. Positioned as the first phase of the Acronis Cyber Workspace, the solution aims to deliver a secure, unified AI environment natively integrated into the Acronis platform.
Built specifically for MSPs, Acronis GenAI Protection provides centralized visibility into AI usage, enabling policy enforcement, reporting, and risk mitigation across endpoints, applications, and AI interactions. This allows service providers to manage AI security as part of their broader service portfolio while ensuring governance across SMB environments.
“GenAI Protection enables MSPs to turn AI security into a managed service while protecting customers from emerging risks,” said Gaidar Magdanurov.
Key capabilities include:
- Detection and monitoring of shadow AI applications
- Protection against sensitive data exposure in AI prompts
- Prevention of prompt injection and AI misuse
The solution eliminates the need for multiple point tools by integrating AI security directly into existing workflows, simplifying deployment while maintaining enterprise-grade protection.
Industry insights from Matthew Ball highlight that AI adoption among SMBs is accelerating, particularly across SaaS platforms, increasing the need for MSP-led oversight and security controls.
With GenAI Protection now generally available, Acronis plans to expand its Cyber Workspace with additional AI-powered capabilities aimed at enhancing automation, productivity, and data protection for service providers and their customers.
