ManageEngine Endpoint Central Advances Towards Autonomous Endpoint Security with New EDR and Secure Private Access Capabilities

ManageEngine

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, has strengthened its unified endpoint management and security platform, Endpoint Central, with the launch of natively built endpoint detection and response (EDR) and Secure Private Access capabilities. The expansion marks a major step toward autonomous endpoint security by combining UEM, EPP with EDR, digital employee experience (DEX), and Zero Trust access into a single integrated platform.

As global workforces become increasingly distributed, endpoints now serve as both the core of IT operations and the primary attack surface. Many organizations still rely on siloed tools for device management, threat protection, and remote access, creating operational blind spots. At the same time, attackers are leveraging AI-driven techniques to accelerate the spread of advanced threats such as ransomware. Traditional VPN models amplify risks by granting broad network access once a user is authenticated.

“With these enhancements, we’re helping enterprises move from reactive security to autonomous resilience.”

“Endpoint security has become a speed problem: enterprises need to detect and contain threats earlier while enforcing Zero Trust access to internal applications when credentials are compromised,” said Chirag Mehta, vice president and principal analyst at Constellation Research. “Bringing EDR together with device-trust-based access controls helps shrink attacker dwell time and reduce the blast radius from endpoint-driven incidents.”

The newly integrated EDR and Secure Private Access features enable AI-powered threat detection, automated remediation, and Zero Trust access based on device trust verification. Built on a single lightweight agent, Endpoint Central unifies telemetry and incident response, allowing IT and security teams to correlate signals across processes, network activity, and user behavior. This unified approach enables ransomware rollback, malicious process termination, rapid patch deployment, and granular access enforcement from a centralized console.

Key enhancements include deep endpoint visibility with MITRE ATT&CK mapping, behavioral threat analytics, AI-assisted investigations, ransomware recovery, and identity-aware access policies for internal applications.

Endpoint Central continues to receive recognition from independent evaluators, including AV-Comparatives’ Approved Business Product certification and strong rankings in Gartner and IDC assessments.
