Moves mission‑critical payment platforms to sovereign enterprise private cloud to boost resilience, compliance and scalability
Financial Software & Systems (FSS), a global leader in payment technology, has completed a major cloud transformation initiative across the Middle East, migrating mission‑critical customer platforms to a sovereign, enterprise‑grade private cloud hosted entirely within the UAE. This large‑scale modernization enhances resilience, supports rapidly rising transaction volumes, and ensures full compliance with the UAE’s stringent data residency requirements.
With digital payments across the Middle East accelerating and regulatory expectations tightening, FSS identified the need to move beyond traditional on‑premises hosting. Financial institutions in the region increasingly demanded higher uptime, elastic scalability, and guaranteed in-country data storage as they expanded digital services.
“This modernization removes infrastructure bottlenecks and ensures full compliance with UAE data residency mandates.”
— Sandeep David Crasta, Sales Head – MENA, Financial Software & Systems
To address these demands, FSS embarked on a strategic modernization program, deploying a next‑generation cloud architecture built on a high-availability, multi‑tier security framework. By leveraging geo‑redundant Equinix data centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the company decoupled its infrastructure to deliver consistent performance, rapid scaling and enhanced operational continuity.
FSS selected BIOS Cloud, part of ZainTech, as its sovereign cloud provider. The transformation spans two in‑country locations: a primary site at Equinix Datacentre, IMPZ, Dubai, and a disaster recovery site at Equinix Datacentre, Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. This ensures all customer data including transaction and application data is processed exclusively within UAE borders and aligned with UAE Central Bank guidelines.
Sandeep David Crasta, Sales Head – MENA Region at FSS, said the migration sets the foundation for regional growth. “By hosting transaction data exclusively within the UAE, we ensure compliance with UAE Central Bank regulations. Our customers now benefit from a future‑proof foundation that combines data residency with seamless scalability.”
Anand Krishnamurthi, Head – Global Digital Delivery at FSS, added that the cloud shift positions the company for the next phase of digital payments expansion. “We are providing financial institutions with a secure, compliant environment built for high‑volume digital growth. This is a resilient and future-ready processing ecosystem.”
With this transition complete, FSS has created a sovereign cloud environment engineered for the evolving needs of Middle East financial institutions compliant, scalable and primed for the next generation of digital payments.
