New Vertiv™ CoolPhase Perimeter PAM models deliver lower PUE, enhanced reliability, and full EU F‑Gas compliance with low‑GWP refrigerants
Vertiv has expanded its Vertiv CoolPhase Perimeter PAM air‑cooled range with new system ratings and the addition of the Vertiv CoolPhase Condenser. Announced on 18 February 2026 in Dubai and now available across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), the upgraded solution is engineered to meet the evolving needs of small, medium, and edge data centers while improving efficiency, environmental compliance, and long‑term operational resilience.
The enhanced CoolPhase Perimeter PAM integrates the Vertiv EconoPhase Pumped Refrigerant Economizer (PRE), a high‑efficiency cooling technology that reduces power consumption by operating at only a fraction of the energy used by traditional compressor‑based systems. By maximizing free‑cooling potential and enhancing system reliability, the pumped refrigerant circuit allows operators to achieve measurable reductions in both power usage effectiveness (PUE) and total cost of ownership (TCO).
“Our latest CoolPhase Perimeter PAM enhancements help data centers stay energy‑efficient, environmentally compliant, and operationally resilient without compromising performance.”
— Sam Bainborough, VP Thermal Management, EMEA, Vertiv
A key sustainability advantage of the new models is the use of R‑513A, a refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) 70% lower than R‑410A. With zero flammability and low toxicity, it complies fully with the EU F‑Gas Regulation 2024/573 making the system an ideal choice for operators looking to minimize environmental impact while maintaining robust cooling performance.
“With this latest addition to the Vertiv CoolPhase Perimeter PAM range, we’re making our direct expansion offering more flexible while addressing two critical challenges faced by data center operators today: environmental compliance and operational efficiency,” said Sam Bainborough, VP thermal management, EMEA at Vertiv.
The system’s advanced features including variable‑speed compressors, staged coil technology, patented filtration, and seamless integration with Vertiv™ Liebert iCOM controls enable intelligent optimization across the entire thermal chain. Supported by Vertiv’s global service organization, customers gain comprehensive lifecycle support from deployment to ongoing maintenance.
