Tenable Emerges as the Company to Beat in AI-Powered Exposure Assessment

Tenable

Gartner report highlights Tenable’s AI-led approach to unifying exposure data and strengthening proactive cyber defense

Tenable has been recognized as the company to beat for AI-powered exposure assessment in the 2025 Gartner AI Vendor Race, underscoring its leadership in applying artificial intelligence to modern exposure management.

In the report titled “AI Vendor Race: Tenable Is the Company to Beat for AI-Powered Exposure Assessment,” Gartner notes that Tenable’s front-runner position is driven by its ability to extend traditional vulnerability management through a broader, AI-driven exposure assessment model. According to Gartner, Tenable combines strong asset and attack surface discovery, third-party telemetry ingestion, and AI to deliver cross-domain context beyond vulnerabilities.

Gartner further highlights that Tenable ingests asset and exposure data across the attack surface and applies AI to enhance prioritization, analyze attack paths, and enable greater automation helping organizations move from reactive security to proactive risk reduction.

Tenable attributes the recognition to its AI-first exposure management strategy, which focuses on unifying and contextualizing all forms of cyber risk across the enterprise. By using AI to aggregate, normalize, and connect asset, exposure, and threat data, the Tenable One platform enables security teams to prioritize remediation efforts based on real-world attack likelihood rather than isolated vulnerabilities.

Gartner also pointed to Tenable’s ambition to become a single pane of glass for exposure data, allowing AI models to deliver more accurate attack path analysis and comprehensive risk assessment. This, Gartner said, supports better orchestration of prioritized remediation workflows and mitigation actions.

“Cybersecurity success today depends on defending at machine speed, not just reacting after the fact,” said Vlad Korsunsky, Chief Technology Officer, Tenable. “Organizations must master both sides of the AI equation using AI for defense while securing AI itself. We’re focused on helping customers rapidly identify and close exposure gaps wherever they exist.”

Beyond AI-driven cyber defense, Tenable One also delivers AI Exposure Management, extending visibility, protection, and governance across enterprise AI environments, including SaaS platforms, cloud services, APIs, and AI agents. This provides security leaders with continuous, risk-aware insights needed to turn AI-related exposure into a manageable and potentially competitive advantage.

The recognition reinforces Tenable’s position as enterprises increasingly seek unified, AI-powered platforms to address expanding attack surfaces and evolving threat landscapes.
