Commvault Unveils Commvault Cloud Unity, Marking a New Era in Enterprise Resilience

A unified, AI-enabled platform that centralizes data security, cyber recovery, and identity resilience across clouds, regions, and hybrid environments.

Commvault has introduced the Commvault Cloud Unity platform release, a major update to its AI-enabled resilience offering designed to help enterprises secure, recover, and govern data across multi-cloud, SaaS, on-premises, and edge environments. This latest evolution consolidates what were once fragmented and siloed tools into a single, unified platform—positioning Commvault to address one of the most complex challenges enterprises face today: business continuity in an AI-driven, threat-heavy landscape.

“Enterprises are facing the perfect storm—non-stop cyber threats, AI-driven attacks on identity systems, and recovery challenges that directly impact revenues and reputations,” said Pranay Ahlawat, Chief Technology and AI Officer, Commvault. “Commvault Cloud Unity unifies resilience across disciplines and environments to help customers achieve strong business outcomes.”

Unifying Three Critical Layers of Enterprise Resilience

The platform brings together data securitycyber recovery, and identity resilience into a single operational console, offering visibility and control across 160+ cloud regions and more than 200 cloud services.

1. Data Security

Commvault Cloud Unity integrates AI-driven discovery, classification, and automated protection policy recommendations. A redesigned interface offers complete visibility into protected and unprotected workloads across multi-cloud environments, exposing risk points and enabling smarter decisions. It also delivers customer-specific TCO insights by comparing the cost of protection and recovery through Commvault Cloud versus native cloud services. The platform now supports seamless governance from data centers and edge locations and is available through both Azure and AWS marketplaces.

2. Cyber Recovery

Commvault is introducing a modern, AI-first recovery workflow powered by three core innovations:

  • Threat Scan: Identifies encrypted assets, suspicious files, and Indicators of Compromise (IoCs).
  • Synthetic Recovery (patent pending): Uses AI to surgically remove threats during recovery while preserving clean data.
  • Cleanroom Recovery: Now equipped with automated runbooks, enabling teams to build, test, and validate recoveries in secure, isolated environments.

Together, these capabilities deliver precision-driven recovery that significantly reduces downtime and accelerates operational continuity.

3. Identity Resilience

With identity systems—especially Active Directory (AD)—now the target of nine out of ten attacks, Commvault has expanded its identity resilience suite with integrated vulnerability assessment, change tracking, and anomaly detection. Suspicious AD modifications can be reversed instantly from the audit log, without requiring manual searches for backup objects.

Commvault has also integrated Active Directory forest recovery directly with Cleanroom Recovery, allowing teams to safely test AD recovery strategies without impacting production environments.

AI-Driven Insights for Confident Operations

The Commvault Cloud Unity platform uses AI-generated insights combining threat intelligence, identity patterns, and recovery readiness assessments to help enterprises operate confidently amid rising AI-driven threats. By centralizing policy enforcement, threat detection, and recoverability insights, the platform enables faster action and clean, complete recovery.

Availability

Select components of the Commvault Cloud Unity platform release will be rolled out later this year, with full capabilities expanding into early 2026.
