Veeam Strengthens Cyber Resilience with Microsoft Sentinel Integration

Veeam

In a move that redefines collaboration between backup and security operations, Veeam Software, the global leader in data resilience, has launched the Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel, offering enterprises a unified approach to real-time backup intelligence and automated threat response. The integration bridges the long-standing visibility gap between Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and backup systems—an area increasingly targeted by ransomware attacks.

The Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel brings advanced integration between Veeam Data Platform and Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft’s cloud-native SIEM. It allows organizations to seamlessly detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats, enhancing operational efficiency and resilience across IT and security teams.

“Data resilience is the foundation of modern cybersecurity. With our new app for Microsoft Sentinel, data resilience meets security intelligence,” said John Jester, Chief Revenue Officer at Veeam Software.

The new solution enables bi-directional automation, letting SOC teams trigger restores, launch malware scans, or initiate recovery workflows directly from Microsoft Sentinel. By ingesting more than 300 Veeam backup and security events—including job failures, ransomware detections, and suspicious activities—the app maps threat data to MITRE ATT&CK frameworks for faster, contextualized response.

Jester emphasized that the integration delivers instant visibility into backup security events and ransomware threats, ensuring data remains safe and recoverable amid the evolving cyber threat landscape. The app also features Microsoft Sentinel-native dashboards that visualize critical backup and security metrics in a single pane, helping organizations meet compliance and strengthen governance.

By connecting IT and security workflows, Veeam’s new offering eliminates silos and accelerates incident response—an increasingly vital capability as attackers move faster and target data backups directly.

Available now via Microsoft Marketplace and Sentinel Content Hub, the Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel comes at no extra cost for Veeam Data Platform Advanced and Premium customers.

With more than 550,000 global customers, including 67% of the Global 2000, Veeam continues to lead the evolution of radical data resilience—empowering organizations to ensure business continuity in an era of persistent cyber risk.
