Nutanix and Pure Storage Join Forces to Power Mission-Critical Virtual Workloads

New integrated solution offers high-performance, secure, and scalable infrastructure for the hybrid multicloud era

In a strategic move poised to reshape infrastructure modernization, Nutanix and Pure Storage have announced a partnership to deliver a deeply integrated solution that combines the Nutanix Cloud Platform with Pure Storage’s FlashArray systems. The goal: to enable enterprises to deploy and manage demanding virtual workloads—such as AI and analytics—on a unified, scalable infrastructure.

This collaboration arrives as virtualization strategies undergo rapid transformation, with cost, agility, and workload portability driving change. According to Gartner, by 2028, 70% of enterprise-scale VMware customers are expected to migrate half of their virtual workloads—underscoring the demand for simplified alternatives that support operational efficiency.

“Our integrated solution brings together the best of both worlds—performance and simplicity—to help enterprises modernize with confidence.”

The joint offering integrates Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, including its AHV hypervisor and Flow security capabilities, with Pure Storage FlashArray over NVMe/TCP, delivering a modern, resilient solution designed for performance-intensive environments.

Key Benefits:

  • Scalable, Full-Stack Infrastructure combining virtual compute and high-density storage for critical workloads.
  • Built-in Cyber Resilience with end-to-end protection from Nutanix Flow micro-segmentation and Pure Storage SafeMode.
  • Freedom of Choice for enterprises seeking alternatives to legacy virtualization platforms.

“With more than 13,500 customers worldwide, the demand for agile, high-performance infrastructure is louder than ever,” said Maciej Kranz, General Manager, Enterprise, Pure Storage. “This partnership gives IT leaders a powerful and future-proof option to support their most data-intensive applications.”

The solution will be available through major server vendors including Cisco, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro, with early access beginning summer 2025 and general availability by end of year.

In a parallel move, Cisco and Pure Storage are expanding their joint FlashStack portfolio to incorporate Nutanix, further streamlining full-stack delivery with validated designs and unified visibility via Cisco Intersight.

“The future of infrastructure is defined by flexibility,” said Jeremy Foster, SVP and GM, Cisco Compute. “By integrating Nutanix into FlashStack, we’re offering a platform that meets enterprise needs with performance, insight, and seamless support.”
