Dual Cybersecurity Training Events Set for UAE This May

As cyber risks escalate, SANS Institute brings in-person and virtual training to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, equipping security leaders with critical hands-on skills

The SANS Institute is hosting two flagship cybersecurity training events in the UAE this May—SANS Abu Dhabi May 2025 (May 18–23) and SANS Dubai May 2025 (May 25–30)—as the region grapples with an increasingly complex threat landscape.

The UAE continues to be a high-value target for cyberattacks, with over 223,800 exposed assets and a backlog of critical vulnerabilities—some left unpatched for more than five years. The recently released 2025 State of the UAE Cybersecurity Report identifies misconfigurations, improper usage, and AI-driven threats like deepfakes and phishing as top concerns.

“Through mission-focused training in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, we’re helping organizations build operational resilience for the challenges of 2025 and beyond.”

— Ned Baltagi, Managing Director – Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, SANS Institute

SANS will offer a series of hands-on, GIAC-certified courses at each event, covering high-demand topics such as ICS/SCADA security, advanced threat detection, red teaming, and CIS control audits. Delivered by SANS-certified instructors with real-world expertise, the courses are designed to immediately strengthen enterprise cyber defense strategies.

Beyond the training, both events will feature Community Nights—free knowledge-sharing sessions open to the wider cybersecurity community. Abu Dhabi’s session, “Tales from the Cryptography” (May 19), will explore cryptographic failures in the wild, while Dubai’s “Same Findings, Different Organization” (May 26) will highlight persistent vulnerabilities across industries.

With hybrid attendance options and a curriculum tailored to current threat realities, these events provide timely upskilling opportunities for security teams across sectors.
