Following network consolidation, ZOI becomes the only MENA operator in global top 100 ASN list

Zain Omantel International (ZOI) has been ranked the most interconnected IP network in the Middle East by the Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA), marking a major milestone for the regional telecom powerhouse. The ranking comes on the heels of ZOI’s successful consolidation of Zain and Omantel’s international networks, pushing the operator into the top 100 Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) globally out of over 70,000 active networks.

This achievement positions ZOI as the only Middle East network in CAIDA’s top 100 list and underscores its strategic role as a global connectivity enabler. With more than 70,000 IP networks now accessible via a single connection, ZOI delivers seamless, low-latency, and secure access for service providers, hyperscalers, and internet exchanges across continents.

“This ranking proves ZOI’s capability as the most interconnected player in the Middle East—empowering hyperscalers, carriers, and digital platforms with unrivaled global reach.”

“Achieving the highest ASN ranking in the region is a direct reflection of our strategic investments in building future-ready, globally scalable infrastructure,” said Sohail Qadir, CEO of ZOI. “Our platform now offers the greatest interconnection density in MENA—without third-party dependency.”

ZOI’s network spans over 120 cities and 16 global internet exchange points, supporting high-volume voice, data, and messaging traffic. As part of its broader strategy, ZOI continues to expand end-to-end connectivity, deepen global partnerships, and improve routing to support next-gen digital economies.

With this global recognition, ZOI reinforces its position as the region’s gateway to the internet—and a foundational enabler of the digital future.
