Vertiv Unveils Industrial‑Grade UPS to Strengthen Power Reliability in Harsh Commercial and Industrial Settings

Vertiv

Vertiv has expanded its industrial infrastructure portfolio with the launch of the Vertiv™ PowerUPS 6000 Industrial, a rugged uninterruptible power supply (UPS) built to address the growing need for reliable, high‑performance power protection across commercial and industrial (C&I) environments. The global critical infrastructure company says the new system is specifically engineered to operate in harsh conditions typical of manufacturing plants, transportation hubs, refineries, pharmaceutical facilities, and other Industry 4.0‑driven sectors.

Designed to withstand electrical instability, dust, humidity, and high ambient temperatures, the PowerUPS 6000 Industrial carries an IP42 rating and operates reliably in environments up to 50°C (122°F). This makes it suitable for safeguarding critical operational systems such as SCADA and PLC controls, industrial networking gear, and automation lines where even brief power disturbances can disrupt production.

“The Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial is engineered specifically for Industry 4.0 applications, delivering reliable performance amid demanding environments.”

— Greg Funk, Vice President, Modular Power Converters, Vertiv

Vertiv emphasized that the new UPS is built with a compact footprint and full front‑access design, allowing for easier installation and maintenance in space‑constrained industrial areas. Energy efficiency is another key focus: the system offers up to 97% efficiency in double‑conversion mode and 99% efficiency in ECO mode. Battery flexibility supports VRLA, Ni‑Cd, and Li‑ion technologies, giving operators options to match varying runtime and lifecycle requirements.

The PowerUPS 6000 Industrial is engineered to handle wide input voltage variations from -40% to +25% and delivers clean, conditioned power with low harmonic distortion to minimize strain on upstream infrastructure. Its parallel operation capability allows for redundancy or capacity scaling. Vertiv has also applied conformal coating to PCBAs to enhance protection against dust, moisture and corrosion critical features for long‑term industrial reliability. Compliance with European standards EN 50121 and EN 50171 further positions the system for mission‑critical deployments.

Vertiv says the product aligns with the increasing digitization of industrial operations, offering robust support for facilities modernizing toward automation and real‑time data environments.
