Liebert® EFC optimizes energy efficiency with low-GWP refrigerant and flexible cooling modes

Vertiv has launched its upgraded Liebert EFC free cooling unit, designed to help data centres in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) improve efficiency while reducing their environmental impact. The new solution, featuring low-GWP refrigerant and patented polymer heat exchanger technology, offers up to 19% greater annual efficiency compared to previous models.

With cooling capacities ranging from 150 to 450 kW, the Liebert EFC allows data centre operators to seamlessly adjust between cooling modes based on real-time conditions, balancing power and water usage for optimized performance. The system also includes a direct expansion (DX) backup option, ensuring full cooling capacity without water reliance.

“As businesses prioritize sustainability, customers seek innovative cooling solutions that reduce resource consumption while ensuring operational resilience,” said Sam Bainborough, Vice President, Thermal Business EMEA at Vertiv“The Liebert EFC delivers a flexible, high-performance cooling system that leverages free cooling and evaporation for maximum efficiency.”

The Liebert EFC complies with global environmental regulations, including EU F-Gas regulation 2024/573, and is designed for long-term scalability and durability.
