Vertiv Expands Rack PDU Portfolio to Power AI and HPC Workloads

New Vertiv™ PowerIT rack PDUs deliver up to 57.6 kW, engineered for high-density computing in North America and EMEA

Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has expanded its Vertiv™ PowerIT rack power distribution unit (PDU) portfolio, introducing models capable of supporting power ratings up to 57.6 kW. Purpose-built for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) environments, the new PDUs address the rising demand for scalable, high-capacity power solutions in data centers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

As data-intensive workloads push rack densities beyond 25 kW, operators are under pressure to deploy more robust power distribution systems. The Vertiv PowerIT rack PDU leverages three-phase power distribution in both 208V Delta (North America) and 240/415V WYE (EMEA) configurations. This ensures balanced loads, reduces circuit overload risks, and enhances overall reliability—critical for modern AI-driven environments.

“The growing adoption of AI and HPC applications is driving unprecedented power demands in data centers. Vertiv™ PowerIT rack PDU demonstrates our commitment to meeting these evolving needs with an end-to-end portfolio.”

– Andrea Ferro, VP, Power & IT Systems, Vertiv EMEA

“The Vertiv PowerIT rack PDU is designed for the realities of today’s high-density computing,” said Andrea Ferro, VP, Power & IT Systems for Vertiv in EMEA. “By offering precise power monitoring, remote control, and rugged reliability, we’re giving customers the ability to scale their power infrastructure efficiently while maintaining flexibility and uptime.”

The new PDUs come in basic, monitored, and switched models, with advanced features such as:

  • Real-time power monitoring for optimized energy management.
  • Remote outlet-level control for faster deployment and enhanced protection of critical IT loads.
  • Secure Boot security in monitored models, leveraging a Vertiv proprietary hardware trust anchor to prevent firmware tampering.
  • Durability in harsh environments, operating at up to 140°F (60°C) and 95% humidity.

For customization, Vertiv offers both configure-to-order and engineered-to-order options, enabling operators to tailor outlet configurations, input types, and even chassis colors. This flexibility allows data centers to adapt PDUs to specific workloads and deployment environments.

To further ensure reliability, Vertiv PowerIT rack PDUs are backed by the Vertiv™ Distribution Assurance Package, which includes seven-year coverage, 24/7 emergency support, professional startup services, and both on-site and remote assistance.

With AI and HPC adoption accelerating worldwide, Vertiv’s new PowerIT rack PDUs position the company at the forefront of next-generation data center power management, giving operators the tools they need to deliver performance, reliability, and scalability in an era of unprecedented compute demands.
