Vertiv has announced the appointment of Paul Ryan as President, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective January 1, 2026. He succeeds Karsten Winther, who will retire at the end of 2025 after a distinguished tenure marked by strategic growth and operational excellence across the region.
“Karsten has made impactful contributions to Vertiv, particularly in navigating complex market dynamics and building strong customer relationships,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv.
Paul Ryan, currently Chief Procurement Officer, brings over two decades of industry experience, including leadership roles at Emerson Network Power and Vertiv across EMEA, Asia Pacific, and global operations. He has led major procurement transformations, enhanced supply chain resilience, and driven continuous improvement initiatives.
“Paul’s commercial acumen, deep industry knowledge, and proven leadership make him the ideal successor to build on our EMEA momentum,” Albertazzi added.
Ryan holds degrees in production management and mathematics from the University of Limerick and completed executive education at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Effective immediately, Patrick Grainey has been named acting Chief Procurement Officer, reporting to Albertazzi, as Vertiv begins the search for a permanent replacement.
This leadership transition underscores Vertiv’s commitment to continuity, performance, and strategic growth across its global operations.
