Real-time intelligence sharing and mutual anti-tamper protection set a new benchmark in preemptive security
In a powerful move to combat the escalating ransomware crisis, global cybersecurity leader Sophos and anti-ransomware specialist Halcyon have announced a strategic partnership focused on real-time threat intelligence sharing and mutual anti-tamper defense.
This collaboration brings together two of the industry’s most experienced teams to deliver faster detection, smarter protection, and improved response capabilities for over 300,000 organizations worldwide. At the core of the partnership is the real-time exchange of threat intelligence—covering indicators of compromise (IOCs), attacker behaviors, and emerging tools used in ransomware campaigns.
“By joining forces, we’re making ransomware defense faster, smarter, and more resilient—before attackers can gain the upper hand.”

Sophos’ flagship solutions, including Intercept X, XDR, and its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, will now benefit from deeper ransomware telemetry from Halcyon’s Anti-Ransomware Platform. In turn, Halcyon’s customers will receive enriched visibility and threat detection informed by Sophos X-Ops, the company’s global threat intelligence and research unit.
“Timely, relevant threat intelligence is the strongest defense against ransomware,” said Simon Reed, Chief Research and Scientific Officer, Sophos. “Our partnership with Halcyon improves signal fidelity and accelerates response, keeping our customers one step ahead.”
A standout feature of the collaboration is mutual anti-tamper protection—a novel approach where each solution monitors the other’s agents during attacks, preventing tampering and maintaining operational integrity even under active ransomware pressure.
“Sophos has consistently outperformed in the field,” said Jon Miller, CEO and Co-founder of Halcyon. “Their commitment to innovation, combined with our ransomware-first technology, gives organizations a real edge against today’s most advanced threats.”
Key benefits of the collaboration:
- Real-time threat sharing for early detection and broader visibility
- Integrated defenses across endpoint, MDR, and ransomware-specific tools
- Mutual resilience, ensuring both platforms remain secure and functional during attacks
The partnership reflects a growing trend in cybersecurity: collaborative defense to outpace agile, AI-powered adversaries. With ransomware evolving rapidly, Halcyon and Sophos are setting a new standard in cross-platform cooperation to deliver faster, stronger protection.
Together, they are not just reacting to ransomware—they’re anticipating it.
