SAP and Snowflake Join Forces to Accelerate Enterprise AI and Data Innovation

Snowflake

In a significant development for enterprise data management, Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, and SAP SE, a global leader in enterprise applications and business AI, have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at helping organizations unlock richer insights and accelerate innovation through the SAP Snowflake solution extension for SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).

This partnership merges SAP’s decades of expertise in mission-critical business processes with Snowflake’s unified AI and data platform, creating a seamless bridge between semantically rich enterprise data and advanced AI-driven analytics. The collaboration also introduces zero-copy data sharing between SAP BDC and Snowflake, allowing enterprises to access and process data in real time without duplication or compromise in governance.

According to Irfan Khan, President and Chief Product Officer for SAP Data and Analytics, “Bringing Snowflake to SAP Business Data Cloud empowers our customers with openness and choice. Together, we’re extending the value of business data across the entire ecosystem.”

“By tightly integrating SAP and Snowflake, we’re making it simple for enterprises to connect their critical business data with seamless AI app and data agent development at scale,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product at Snowflake.

The new offering empowers organizations to build AI-ready data foundations, unify SAP and non-SAP data, and accelerate the development of intelligent applications grounded in trusted enterprise data. By integrating Snowflake’s AI, analytics, and collaboration capabilities into SAP’s Business Data Fabric, enterprises gain the flexibility to innovate faster while reducing total cost of ownership.

Industry leaders like AstraZeneca are already leveraging the combined power of SAP and Snowflake to drive transformation in life sciences, emphasizing how critical real-time data and AI integration have become for business competitiveness.

The SAP Snowflake solution is expected to be generally available in Q1 2026, followed by SAP BDC Connect for Snowflake in H1 2026—marking a major milestone in the convergence of enterprise data management and AI-powered innovation.
