New facility to accelerate advanced manufacturing, local innovation, and regional self-reliance across key sectors

Phillips Middle East, one of the region’s largest suppliers of advanced manufacturing equipment, has launched its first Manufacturing Tech Center of Excellence at Dubai Silicon Oasis, marking a major milestone in the UAE’s journey toward becoming a global manufacturing hub.

Spread across 5,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility consolidates additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies under one roof. It aims to empower manufacturers in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, medical, food, and education with a hands-on environment to explore, test, and deploy next-generation solutions.

“Our million-dollar strategic investment in the UAE demonstrates our long-term dedication to this market,” said Alan Phillips, Founder of Phillips Corporation. “It aligns with the country’s ambition to lead the world in advanced manufacturing and self-reliant production.”

“Our strategic investment in the UAE reinforces our commitment to drive industrial excellence and empower regional manufacturers.”

By addressing the region’s dependency on imported components and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the Center will enable localized production, enhance supply chain resilience, and promote operational autonomy. Its modular solutions allow industries to deploy on-site manufacturing capabilities — reducing downtime and costs while strengthening national industrial capacity.

Terrence Miranda, Managing Director, Phillips MENA & APAC, highlighted the Center’s broader impact: “The facility integrates both additive and subtractive technologies, allowing users to experience the complete digital-to-physical process. It’s not just a demo space — it’s a hub for innovation, partnership, and engineering excellence.”

Reinforcing this vision, Jopu Zachariah, Director of MENA at Phillips, added that developing local talent is central to the company’s regional strategy. “We’re partnering with universities and industrial bodies to nurture a skilled workforce and build a strong, self-sustaining manufacturing ecosystem.”

With operations already established in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Phillips Middle East continues to expand its regional footprint, driving technological advancement, sustainability, and competitiveness across the manufacturing landscape.
