OPSWAT Launches OPX Lab in Dubai to Fortify Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity

Immersive cyber lab offers real-time simulations of attacks on energy, banking, and defense sectors, empowering regional organizations with hands-on defense strategies.

In a strategic move to bolster cybersecurity across the Middle East, OPSWAT has unveiled its OPX Lab in Dubai, a cutting-edge facility dedicated to Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). The lab is the first of its kind in the region, offering live simulations of cyberattacks on vital sectors such as energy, banking, and defense.

The OPX Lab is designed to provide organizations with a realistic, hands-on experience of how cyber threats unfold and how OPSWAT’s technologies respond. From ransomware attacks on financial systems to breaches in nuclear plant operations, the lab replicates high-risk scenarios with precision.

“This isn’t just a demo, it’s a proving ground,” said Saif AlRefai, Solutions Engineering Manager at OPSWAT. “The OPX Lab brings to life the kinds of cyber threats our customers face every day. It allows them to test how our technologies detect, prevent and respond to those threats in a fully controlled, hands-on environment.”

The lab features OPSWAT’s flagship MetaDefender platform, along with over 20 other products including NetWall Data Diodes and MetaDefender Kiosk. These tools are tailored for highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance and resilience.

OPSWAT’s decision to base the lab in Dubai reflects the city’s role as a regional innovation hub and its proximity to enterprise customers and cybersecurity talent. Channel partners also gain access, transforming the lab into a strategic enablement platform.
