NEC and e& Forge Strategic Alliance to Accelerate Sustainable Digital Transformation

NEC and e&

True progress lies where innovation meets responsibility — technology must empower both people and the planet.

In a powerful step toward driving responsible digital growth, NEC Corporation and e& Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on joint sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact, promoting social inclusion, and fostering long-term economic value.

The partnership, announced in Tokyo, strengthens NEC’s collaboration with one of the Middle East’s leading technology groups, as both organizations work to align business growth with sustainability principles and transparent governance. The MoU was formalized between NEC’s GCC branch and e&, setting the stage for a series of joint programs designed to advance responsible sourcing and support global climate goals.

Operating across 38 countries in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe, e& continues to position sustainability at the core of its digital and business strategy. This latest collaboration complements Project Life, e&’s transformative initiative to drive responsible sourcing and align with the group’s Sustainability Vision 2030.

Saeed Al Zarooni, Group Chief Procurement Officer of e&, emphasized the partnership’s wider purpose:

“Strong partner relationships are the cornerstone of our success. Together, we are committed to building a future where collaboration, trust, and sustainability converge to create shared achievements and long-term value.”

Adding to this, Andrew Dunnett, Group Senior Vice President of Sustainability at e&, said:

“This MoU aligns with our Climate Transition Plan, ‘Ambition to Action.’ Our collaboration with NEC will help accelerate sustainable innovation and deliver meaningful environmental and social impact.”

From low-carbon and energy-efficient solutions to renewable integration and circular economy practices, NEC and e& will explore innovative frameworks that support the green transformation of industries and communities.

Masayuki Kayahara, Corporate SVP, Global Network Division at NEC Corporation, added:

“We are proud to collaborate with e& to deliver energy-efficient solutions that combine environmental progress with operational excellence.”

With this partnership, NEC and e& are setting a regional benchmark for sustainable innovation, showcasing how technology alliances can drive measurable impact—bridging the gap between digital progress and environmental responsibility.
