New release turns AI into an autonomous co-worker for mission-critical industries facing severe labor shortages.
IFS has unveiled IFS Cloud 25R2, a major leap forward in Industrial AI that introduces autonomous Digital Workers capable of thinking, deciding and acting across enterprise systems. Announced at the company’s flagship Industrial X Unleashed event, the release positions Industrial AI as an operational necessity for sectors grappling with retiring workforces, strained supply chains and unprecedented infrastructure investments.
The cornerstone of the release is IFS Loops Digital Workers—AI agents embedded directly into industrial workflows. Designed for sectors where generic AI fails, these Digital Workers mimic human decision-making with domain intelligence, governed autonomy and full auditability. For Kodiak Gas Services, the impact is already tangible. “If half of our workforce engages with the IFS Loops agent once per day, that’s three million dollars a year of ROI,” said Pedro Buhigas, CIO. “More importantly, that’s ninety thousand hours we can give back to field service technicians.”

“Industrial AI is not theory anymore—it’s the only way the world can bridge its looming workforce and capacity crisis.”
— Christian Pedersen, Chief Innovation Officer, IFS
IFS Cloud 25R2 expands AI-driven capabilities across ERP, EAM, FSM and aviation maintenance, enabling predictive insights, automated reporting, dynamic planning and real-time operational support. The new features—from AI-generated service summaries to automated invoice data capture and context-aware Smart Part Finder—are built to remove what IFS calls the “invisible work,” which consumes up to 60% of frontline staff capacity.
The release introduces five Digital Workers at launch, including Customer Order Manager, Inventory Replenisher and Operations Analyst—each designed to execute multi-step processes autonomously and continuously. “Our commitment is to embed industrial-focused AI where it matters most—inside the daily workflows of technicians and operations teams,” said Cathie Hall, Chief Product and Customer Officer.
IFS customers are already witnessing material business impact. “Through this technology partnership, we drove 30% savings to the bottom line,” said Tony Alloway, VP North American Operations, BGIS.
With enhanced sustainability reporting, emissions tracking and AI-generated KPI narratives, IFS Cloud 25R2 also supports responsible growth. Available globally, the release marks the next frontier of Industrial AI—expanding workforce capacity, accelerating digital transformation and enabling enterprises to operate with greater precision and resilience.
