New ERP-integrated feature treats carbon emissions like currency to simplify sustainability tracking
Epicor launches its Carbon Cost Rollup—a revolutionary, patent-pending environmental accounting solution embedded in Epicor Kinetic, the company’s flagship cloud ERP for manufacturers.
“We’ve built a solution that empowers manufacturers to tackle carbon accounting with the same precision as financial costing.”
— Kerrie Jordan, Group Vice President, Epicor
Inspired by the traditional “Cost Rollup” methodology used in standard costing systems, this new feature innovatively treats CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) as a financial metric, enabling manufacturers to calculate the cumulative carbon footprint of a product starting from its bill of materials to final assembly.
“Through feedback from our Customer Advisory Board members, it became clear there was a need for a simplified approach to environmental accountability and reporting in the manufacturing sector,” said Kerrie Jordan, Group Vice President at Epicor. “This marks a significant step forward in sustainability tracking for manufacturers.”
The Carbon Cost Rollup not only simplifies complex carbon reporting but also integrates seamlessly with cost accounting tools, lowering the learning curve and ensuring operational consistency. It complements Epicor’s collaboration with carbon intelligence platform Climatiq, whose API was integrated into the Epicor portfolio in 2024 to help businesses balance sustainability and profitability.
With manufacturers under increasing pressure to report emissions and meet ESG goals, Epicor’s innovation delivers a practical and accurate pathway to manage carbon impacts—without sacrificing efficiency.
