The award-winning DXC Dandelion Program aims to build inclusive career pathways for neurodivergent professionals

DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), a Fortune 500 global IT services provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to expand the DXC Dandelion Program into the country. Building on the program’s success in Australia, the U.K., Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, and the Philippines, the collaboration aims to foster neurodiverse awareness, acceptance, and career opportunities in Egypt’s growing IT sector.

The partnership announcement was witnessed by H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and H.E. Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity. Dr. Talaat highlighted the program’s potential, stating that it enables all citizens to contribute meaningfully to Egypt’s digital transformation while strengthening the nation’s vision for empowerment.

“By providing neurodiverse talent with the right training and opportunities, we are empowering a future-ready workforce that can drive Egypt’s digital transformation.” — Neveen Galal, Managing Director, DXC Technology Egypt

Under the three-year program, DXC and ITIDA will identify, train, and provide work experience for up to 60 neurodiverse individuals aged 18–30. Participants will receive life skills and technical training in areas such as software testing, infrastructure monitoring, AI, and data analytics. Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, emphasized that the program promotes responsible, community-driven initiatives while expanding Egypt’s digital workforce and reinforcing its position as a leading technology hub.

Established in 2014 in Australia, the DXC Dandelion Program creates IT careers for individuals with autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergent conditions. No prior professional experience is required, and the program combines vocational training with guidance from inclusion specialists. Globally, it has created employment opportunities for more than 350 individuals and earned over 25 international awards.

Neveen Galal noted that neurodivergent professionals often possess extraordinary abilities in focus, pattern recognition, and out-of-the-box thinking—skills highly valuable in IT. “By creating a positive environment and providing proper support, we are helping participants leverage their strengths while addressing critical IT skills gaps,” she said.

Egypt’s ICT sector has recorded 14–16% annual growth over the past seven years, contributing nearly 6% of GDP, with digital exports projected at USD 7.4 billion. DXC’s regional delivery center in Egypt currently employs 600 IT professionals and expects to grow to 1,000 by 2027, further supporting the country’s digital ambitions.
