New virtualization option brings enterprise-grade flexibility to hybrid cloud deployments
Dell Technologies is deepening its collaboration with Nutanix by announcing support for PowerStore, its flagship all-flash storage platform, on the Nutanix Cloud Platform. The move introduces a new virtualization option for external storage, designed to meet growing demand for flexible, high-performance infrastructure.
PowerStore’s scale-up and scale-out architecture will now integrate with Nutanix’s cloud operating model, enabling organizations to deploy and manage storage with greater agility. The announcement marks a strategic step forward in Dell’s commitment to delivering choice without complexity.
“This is about giving customers more control—without compromise—over how they scale, manage, and modernize their infrastructure,” a Dell spokesperson said.
The integration builds on a year of momentum between the two companies, following the launch of XC Plus and PowerFlex support for Nutanix. With PowerStore, Dell is offering a new level of adaptability for hybrid cloud environments, especially those preparing for AI workloads and real-time analytics.
Key benefits include simplified management through Nutanix Prism and PowerStore’s automation features, modular upgrades for lifecycle extension, and enterprise-grade security with built-in cyber protection and VM-centric disaster recovery. Dell also highlights PowerStore’s advanced data reduction capabilities, backed by a 5:1 efficiency guarantee.
Looking ahead, Dell plans to expand its Private Cloud offering to support Nutanix with disaggregated infrastructure and automated lifecycle management. The company will also introduce three new XC platforms in October, built on the latest PowerEdge servers.
PowerStore support for Nutanix is expected to enter early access in spring 2026, with general availability slated for summer.
Together, Dell and Nutanix are redefining infrastructure choice—empowering customers to innovate with confidence.
