Modular and sustainable edge-based platform delivers 10G data speeds, up to 1kW power, and slashes installation time, space, and carbon footprint.
CommScope has announced the global rollout of its evolved SYSTIMAX® Constellation® edge-based power and data platform — a next-generation solution designed to simplify enterprise network infrastructure while enabling faster, greener, and more scalable connectivity.
Now compliant with major global power and data transmission standards, the evolved Constellation platform combines fault-managed power, hybrid power/data fiber, and Constellation Points (CPs) in a simplified star topology. This approach allows enterprises to connect thousands of devices while minimizing cost, labor, and space requirements.
“The Constellation platform enables our customers to support much denser urban centers and a proliferation of connected devices in their buildings,” said Luc Adriaenssens, VP, Building & Campus, CCS, CommScope. “By offering a modular, technology-agnostic solution, we’re giving global customers more choices for building connectivity and power to the network edge — in a cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable way.”
Unlike traditional cabling networks that require telecom rooms on every floor, the Constellation system centralizes uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment and deploys CPs in ceilings, walls, or racks — dramatically reducing complexity and material usage. The result: up to 57% reduction in skilled labor, 59% less copper, 65% less plastic, and 40% lower embodied network carbon.
The platform delivers 10G (and higher) bandwidth and up to 1kW fault-managed power across distances of up to 1,000 meters, supporting up to 50 devices per convergence point. This makes it ideal for today’s dense smart buildings, campuses, and hybrid IT/OT environments.
Part of CommScope’s award-winning SYSTIMAX® portfolio, Constellation integrates components like Propel™ fiber panels, power transmitters, and transition panels, all connected via patented hybrid power/data fiber trunks.
