Cohesity Gaia Now Integrates with Microsoft 365 Copilot to Unlock AI-Powered Access to Enterprise Backup Data

New integration transforms stored emails, files, and documents into real-time business intelligence across departments.

Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security, has announced the integration of its Cohesity Gaia platform with Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling enterprise users to seamlessly search and extract actionable insights from vast volumes of backup data — directly from within their Microsoft 365 Copilot interface.

The integration allows employees across business units to securely query stored emails, documents, spreadsheets, and more using natural language, helping them make faster, more informed decisions. As a result, organizations can convert dormant backup data into high-value strategic assets without compromising security or compliance.

“This integration marks a major leap forward in how enterprises can transform dormant data into strategic intelligence,” said Johnny Karam, Managing Director and VP, International Emerging Region at Cohesity. “In markets like the UAE, where national AI strategies are reshaping digital transformation, this capability enables businesses to lead with data and stay ahead of evolving demands.”

Cohesity Gaia uses generative AIlarge language models (LLMs), and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to rapidly search backup archives and surface relevant information based on conversational prompts. Granular access controls ensure responses align with user permissions, safeguarding sensitive data even as insights become more accessible.

According to Chantrelle Nielsen, Group Product Manager, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft:

“Generative AI has created a tipping point for enterprise AI deployments. Our partnership with Cohesity advances that momentum by delivering critical data insights via a single, familiar interface.”

The integration reflects the growing trend of AI-to-AI communication in enterprise environments and helps maximize ROI on Microsoft and Cohesity investments. The solution is already being leveraged across multiple industries to improve business agility, security, and operational efficiency.

Cohesity Gaia is available as a subscription service. Current subscribers of both Cohesity Gaia and Microsoft 365 Copilot can access this integration at no additional cost.
