New data security features aim to bolster cyber resilience for enterprises, expand cloud and database protection
Cohesity has announced a significant upgrade to its NetBackup 11.0 solution, introducing a host of new cybersecurity and data protection features aimed at strengthening organizational defenses against both current and future threats. The enhanced platform includes quantum-proof encryption, broader cloud workload support, and deeper integration with Nutanix Database Service (NDB).
The new release offers advanced user behavior monitoring, automated risk scoring, and extended protection for popular PaaS databases such as Amazon RDS, Azure Cosmos DB, and GitHub. In parallel, Cohesity’s integration with Nutanix delivers faster, more secure backup and restore capabilities for PostgreSQL databases via native NDB features.
“This is our most powerful release yet—built to defend data now and in the quantum future.”
— Vasu Murthy, Chief Product Officer, Cohesity
“These enhancements to NetBackup 11.0 are designed to help enterprises tackle today’s cyber threats while preparing for what’s ahead, including the risks posed by quantum computing,” said Vasu Murthy, Chief Product Officer at Cohesity. “We’re delivering speed, simplicity, and security to meet the evolving demands of critical sectors like global banking, healthcare, and the Fortune 500.”
Cohesity’s partnership with Nutanix also brings stronger database protection, cost-efficiency through deduplication and compression, and a unified control plane that simplifies data management. With cyberattacks growing more sophisticated, the joint solution aims to minimize downtime and ensure rapid recovery across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
