CMC Networks Names Mahesh Jaishankar as Managing Director to Spearhead AI-Powered Connectivity Across Africa and Middle East

Former Google and du executive brings 25+ years of expertise in hyperscale networking, digital hubs, and innovation to lead CMC’s next phase of growth

CMC Networks, Africa’s premier networking provider and a subsidiary of center3, has appointed Mahesh Jaishankar as its new Managing Director, marking a significant step in the company’s ambition to become the region’s foremost AI-driven connectivity provider.

Jaishankar succeeds Marisa Trisolino, who departed in April 2025, and brings over 25 years of leadership experience spanning hyperscale networking, digital infrastructure, and entrepreneurship. At Google, he led global strategic negotiations for network assets, while at du he was instrumental in launching datamena, which has since grown into MENA’s largest digital hub and a key home for hyperscalers and OTT players.

“CMC has an incredible heritage, and together with our partners, we will deliver the intelligent, scalable connectivity Africa and the Middle East need to thrive.”

Speaking on the appointment, Fahad Alhajeri, CEO of center3 and Chairman of CMC Networks, said: “Mahesh brings deep expertise with hyperscalers, carriers, and enterprises, coupled with a proven track record of establishing regional platforms with global relevance. We are confident that under his leadership, CMC will strengthen its position as the leading provider of intelligent, AI-driven connectivity solutions across Africa and the Middle East.”

Jaishankar takes the helm at a pivotal moment for CMC Networks. Since being acquired by center3 in June 2024, the company has accelerated its adoption of Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps), combining automation with over 35 years of on-the-ground expertise across 62 African and Middle Eastern markets.

“I’m honoured to join CMC at such a pivotal moment for AI, innovation, and Africa’s digital growth,” said Mahesh Jaishankar. “Together with our customers and partners, we will accelerate growth, unlock new opportunities, and deliver resilient, AI-powered connectivity to fuel the digital economies of the region.”

With a strong track record in both corporate leadership and entrepreneurship, including his role as a charter member of TiE Dubai, Jaishankar is well positioned to lead CMC Networks into its next phase of growth — one that aligns AI innovation with the continent’s surging demand for resilient, scalable digital infrastructure.
