Alliance aims to cut AI inference latency by up to 80% while enabling seamless global deployment
Cloudflare and JD Cloud have announced a major expansion of their long-standing partnership to create a high-performance, globally distributed AI inference platform for developers worldwide. The collaboration is designed to address one of the most pressing challenges in modern AI deployment—low-latency inference across geographically diverse markets, particularly between China and the rest of the world.
As AI-driven applications increasingly rely on real-time inference, demand has surged for infrastructure that can process workloads closer to end users. By deepening their integration, Cloudflare and JD Cloud aim to deliver a unified networking and compute experience that can reduce AI inference latency by up to 80 percent, significantly improving responsiveness and user experience for global applications.
“The future of AI depends on a truly global network that can keep up. Our partnership with JD Cloud makes that possible—giving developers a simple, reliable way to build and run AI applications seamlessly across the world.”
— Matthew Prince, Co-founder and CEO, Cloudflare
The expanded partnership combines Cloudflare’s global connectivity cloud with JD Cloud’s local infrastructure in China, enabling developers to deploy and scale AI inference workloads without re-architecting their applications. Once activated, traffic from users in China is automatically routed to JD Cloud-operated local data centers, while traffic from the rest of the world is served from the nearest Cloudflare location. Crucially, this can be achieved without changing a single line of code, lowering barriers for international expansion.
Beyond performance, the joint platform emphasizes security and reliability. Customers benefit from Cloudflare’s integrated security services, including its cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF), advanced DDoS mitigation, and global Content Delivery Network (CDN). This ensures AI applications remain protected while operating at scale across complex regulatory and network environments.
JD Cloud noted that the partnership aligns closely with its mission to deliver enterprise-grade intelligent technology services, leveraging JD.com’s deep experience across diverse business scenarios and large-scale operations. By combining global reach with local expertise, the alliance strengthens JD Cloud’s ability to support multinational enterprises and developers entering or expanding within China.
Building on five years of collaboration, this latest expansion positions Cloudflare and JD Cloud at the forefront of global AI infrastructure, enabling developers to deploy inference workloads wherever demand exists—quickly, securely, and efficiently. As AI adoption accelerates, the partnership aims to provide the foundational cloud layer needed to support the next wave of intelligent, globally connected applications.
