Acquisition positions Check Point asAa global leader in securing the full lifecycle of AI – from models to agents to data.
Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. has announced its agreement to acquire Lakera, a leading AI-native security platform for Agentic AI applications, in a move set to redefine enterprise AI security. With this acquisition, Check Point becomes one of the first cybersecurity companies to deliver an end-to-end AI security stack, enabling enterprises to innovate at scale without compromising safety.
The timing is critical. Enterprises worldwide are embedding large language models, generative AI, and autonomous agents into mission-critical workflows. While these technologies fuel innovation, they also expand the attack surface, exposing organizations to risks such as data leakage, model manipulation, and vulnerabilities in multi-agent systems.
“Lakera was purpose-built for the AI era, with real-time runtime security and research at its core. Joining Check Point allows us to accelerate and scale our mission globally.”
– David Haber, Co-Founder & CEO, Lakera
Check Point already provides robust protection through GenAI Protect, advanced data loss prevention, and AI-powered defenses across applications, cloud, and endpoints. The integration of Lakera’s real-time runtime protection with Check Point Infinity will extend these capabilities across the full AI lifecycle—covering models, agents, and data.
Founded by AI researchers from Google and Meta, Lakera has earned global recognition for its solutions—Lakera Red and Lakera Guard—that provide pre-deployment posture assessments and runtime enforcement for AI-driven environments. Trusted by Fortune 500 enterprises, Lakera combines continuous red teaming, cutting-edge runtime defenses, and Gandalf—its adversarial AI network powered by more than 80 million attack patterns.
Upon closing, Lakera will serve as the foundation of Check Point’s new Global Center of Excellence for AI Security. This initiative will accelerate AI security research and innovation while reinforcing Check Point’s leadership in safeguarding AI-powered enterprises.
The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2025, subject to customary approvals.
With this acquisition, Check Point underscores its prevention-first strategy—positioning itself not just as a cybersecurity provider, but as a trusted enabler of secure digital transformation in the age of AI.
