BeyondTrust Unveils Unified Privileged Identity Security for AI Agents Across Enterprise Environments

BeyondTrust

BeyondTrust has announced a major expansion of its Pathfinder Platform, introducing what it claims is the industry’s first unified privileged identity security solution designed specifically for AI agent coworkers and autonomous workloads operating across endpoints, cloud, and SaaS environments.

The announcement comes amid growing enterprise adoption of agentic AI, where intelligent agents are no longer experimental tools but production-grade workloads capable of initiating API calls, deploying code, and accessing sensitive enterprise data. These AI agents often operate with high levels of privilege sometimes exceeding those of human administrators creating a rapidly expanding attack surface.

According to new research from BeyondTrust Phantom Labs, a majority of organizations are already running “shadow AI” agents with privileged access that remain largely invisible to security teams. This lack of visibility and governance has intensified the need for a consolidated approach to managing human, machine, and AI identities.

“To get agentic AI right, you need to get privileged identity right.”

— Marc Maiffret, CTO, BeyondTrust

The enhanced Pathfinder Platform addresses this gap by delivering end-to-end visibility and control across AI ecosystems. It enables security teams to discover, classify, and monitor AI agents across leading platforms such as OpenAI, Amazon Web Services Bedrock, Salesforce Agentforce, ServiceNow, and Google Cloud Vertex AI.

Key capabilities include endpoint privilege enforcement for AI coworkers, AI agent discovery and risk analysis, and robust secrets management for autonomous workloads. These features ensure least-privilege access, continuous monitoring, and secure credential handling across distributed environments.

BeyondTrust also revealed that enterprise environments using its platform have witnessed a 466.7% surge in AI agent deployment over the past year, largely driven by low-code automation and cloud-native adoption. This rapid proliferation of non-human identities has made traditional security models increasingly ineffective.

To help organizations assess their exposure, BeyondTrust is offering a free AI security posture assessment through its Identity Security Insights solution. The assessment provides rapid visibility into AI agent inventories, privilege paths, and potential risks, along with actionable remediation guidance.

With this launch, BeyondTrust aims to position privileged identity security as a foundational requirement for safely scaling AI adoption in modern enterprises.
