Batterjee Medical College Accelerates Global Growth with Veeam, Achieving 80% Faster Data Recovery

Saudi Arabia’s leading private medical college boosts data resilience and operational agility with Veeam, paving the way for international expansion.

Batterjee Medical College (BMC), a trailblazer in private medical education in Saudi Arabia, has significantly strengthened its digital backbone by deploying the Veeam Data Platform, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, and Veeam Data Cloud Vault. This strategic move supports BMC’s ambitious expansion plans, including the opening of a new campus in Dubai — a first for a Saudi educational institution.

With data volumes growing at 20% annually and expected to surge further, BMC recognized the urgency of modernizing its data protection strategy. “BMC is growing in size and advancing our offering,” said Nabil Alsanbi, IT Operations Director. “We’re committed to embracing new technologies, protecting data as a strategic priority, and using technology to boost productivity.”

Veeam’s hybrid-ready architecture proved to be the ideal fit. “It outshone other vendors because it’s easy to use, quick to deploy, and doesn’t require specialized training,” Alsanbi noted. “Any member of our IT team can manage it effectively.”

The results have been transformative. BMC has slashed its data recovery times by 80%, reducing system restoration from two hours to just 15 minutes. Backup times have halved, and the data protection workload has dropped by 80%. Storage needs have also been optimized, with compression features reducing requirements by up to 80% in some cases.

These efficiencies are enabling BMC to reallocate resources toward strategic initiatives like IT optimization and cybersecurity. “We’re putting these extra resources toward advancing our digital transformation and supporting our international growth,” Alsanbi added.

Mena Migally, Regional Vice President for EMEA East at Veeam, emphasized the broader impact: “BMC’s transformation is a powerful example of how data resilience can fuel innovation and expansion. By choosing Veeam, BMC has unlocked the agility needed to scale internationally and deliver world-class education.”

With Veeam, BMC is not just protecting its data — it’s building a resilient, scalable foundation for the future of medical education across borders.
