New suite delivers real-time insight into trackers, permissions, risky domains, and PII, helping enterprises meet compliance and safeguard customer data
Appknox, a global leader in mobile application security, has introduced Privacy Shield, a new suite designed to help enterprises in the GCC manage privacy risks in mobile applications and comply with emerging data protection laws. The launch comes at a time when governments across the region, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, are tightening data protection frameworks with legislations such as the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and Saudi Arabia’s Data Protection Law.
With mobile applications projected to generate more than $522 billion in global revenue by 2026, they have become central to enterprise strategies across industries. However, organizations continue to face challenges in understanding how personal data is collected, stored, and shared within their apps. These blind spots, often hidden in SDKs, excessive permissions, and data flows, not only create privacy vulnerabilities but also expose businesses to compliance violations and reputational damage.
“The GCC is setting a new benchmark for digital trust with its data protection laws. Privacy Shield reflects our commitment to supporting that vision by giving enterprises the clarity they’ve been missing inside their mobile apps.”

Appknox’s Privacy Shield addresses these challenges through four integrated capabilities. Tracker Identification scans for hidden third-party trackers that may collect user information without oversight. Permissions Monitoring highlights excessive or unnecessary permissions that could compromise privacy. Risky Domain Access Detection identifies outbound connections to servers in sanctioned or high-risk jurisdictions, allowing enterprises to assess geo-specific risks. Finally, PII Detection maps the storage and flow of personally identifiable information (PII), enabling businesses to align their practices with international regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
Subho Halder, CEO & Co-Founder of Appknox, emphasized the importance of this launch: “The GCC is setting a new benchmark for digital trust with its data protection laws. Privacy Shield reflects our commitment to supporting that vision. It gives enterprises the clarity they’ve been missing inside their mobile apps, so they can meet compliance requirements with confidence and maintain the trust of the customers they serve.”
The suite is part of Appknox’s broader security portfolio, which includes static and dynamic testing, API testing, SBOM, and penetration testing. Already trusted by over 100 global enterprises, Appknox continues to help organizations reduce remediation costs and embed privacy and security at the heart of their digital strategies.
