In a move to revolutionize AI computing, AMD has partnered with Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA), France’s premier research organization. The collaboration aims to explore next-generation AI computing architectures that prioritize energy efficiency to handle the most demanding AI workloads in industries such as energy and medicine.
The partnership comes with the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI), with both organizations planning a symposium in 2025. The event will unite European stakeholders, global technology providers, supercomputing centers, and policy makers to advance AI technology.
Ralph Wittig, AMD’s Corporate Fellow and head of research, said, “International collaboration is key to pushing the boundaries of AI. By working with CEA, we aim to transform cutting-edge AI research into practical applications for tomorrow’s complex workloads.”
Julie Galland, Director of CEA’s Technological Research division, emphasized the significance of the partnership: “By combining CEA’s expertise with AMD’s technology, we are taking a major step toward fostering global cooperation in AI computing, addressing the growing demands of AI workloads.”
This collaboration underscores AMD’s commitment to pushing the limits of AI innovation and strengthening ties between the U.S. and European research communities.
