“AI, Interoperability, and Data Sovereignty: IceWarp’s CEO on Reinventing Collaboration for the Digital Era”

Adam Paclt, Global CEO, IceWarp
  • “AI is the game changer—but trust and privacy will define its success.”
  • “IceWarp is not just a product—it’s a platform for building your own collaboration ecosystem.”
  • “Fusion is about real-time integration across devices and third-party systems.”
  • “Collaboration isn’t just messaging; it’s about creating an integrated, intelligent workspace.”

At Gitex Global 2025, Adam Paclt, Global CEO of IceWarp, explains how AI-driven virtual assistants, seamless interoperability, and a boutique approach are shaping the future of enterprise collaboration.

What’s new from IceWarp at Gitex Global 2025?

The biggest topic these days is artificial intelligence and how you can integrate AI into your product—especially in the collaboration segment. For us, that’s a major focus. Over the past year, we’ve been implementing AI across our platform, which includes email, chat, contacts, tasks, notes, and files. The goal is to create an ultimate virtual assistant that predicts your needs and guides you through your day based on your behavior.

Another key area is interoperability. We want users to start something on their desktop and continue seamlessly on their mobile device, and vice versa. That kind of integration is critical, and we showcased it here at Gitex.

CIOs often struggle with email and messaging security. How does IceWarp address these challenges?

IceWarp is not just about messaging—it’s a full collaboration platform. We realized long ago that email alone isn’t enough; enterprises need smart collaboration tools.

From a security perspective, we offer both on-premises and cloud deployments, and we keep both environments equally feature-rich. In the cloud, we take full responsibility for security. Our DevOps and cybersecurity teams manage clusters worldwide to ensure compliance and resilience.

On-premises deployments come with their own challenges, but we provide robust tools and support to help enterprises maintain security.

“Don’t be afraid to try alternatives. Innovation thrives when enterprises explore beyond the obvious.”

— Adam Paclt, Global CEO, IceWarp

Data privacy and compliance are critical, especially in regulated industries. How does IceWarp handle this?

Over the last year, we’ve seen major changes driven by geopolitical shifts and regulatory requirements. Banks, financial advisors, and government agencies are asking for solutions that guarantee privacy and allow them to keep control of their data.

IceWarp offers flexibility: you can run our platform on-premises or in the cloud. Governments, in particular, are focused on data sovereignty—keeping national data in national data centers. We see this as a big advantage for IceWarp because we can deliver affordable technology that meets these requirements.

Collaboration today goes beyond messaging. How does IceWarp support document editing, conferencing, and integration with third-party apps?

Absolutely. Collaboration is much more than email. We support document editing, team chat, video conferencing, and more.

Integration is key. We provide a transparent API, so anything you can do in our user interface or mobile apps, you can also do via API. This allows partners—and even government agencies—to build custom applications on IceWarp.

That’s why I always say IceWarp is not just a product—it’s a platform. You can use our interfaces or build your own using our API.

What’s your core message to customers and partners at Gitex this year?

My message is simple: don’t be afraid to try alternatives. The market is fragmented and will become even more so. Players like us dedicate our lives to developing smarter, simpler, and better-integrated solutions.

We take a boutique approach for large customers, offering custom development and dedicated support. Innovation thrives when enterprises explore beyond the obvious choices.

AI and automation are transforming user experience. How is IceWarp leveraging these technologies?

AI and automation are the game changers of this year and next. Today, most platforms use AI for prompts and interface suggestions. Our vision goes further: we want to create a predictive assistant that works with real-time data to simplify daily routines.

It’s challenging because we deal with massive, sometimes unstructured datasets. AI still hallucinates with large data sets, so trust and governance are critical. But the ultimate goal remains clear: AI should make life easier, not harder.

How is IceWarp growing in this region, and what’s next on your roadmap?

We’re seeing stable growth of 30–35%, especially in this region. Our roadmap centers on Fusion, the next generation of IceWarp.

Fusion is about seamless integration across devices and platforms. Start an email on your desktop and continue on your mobile instantly. We’re also enabling interoperability with Microsoft, Google, CRM systems, and task management tools—all within IceWarp’s interface.

Fusion will roll out in three major releases next year, gradually adding new features. It’s the biggest change for us and a major step toward creating a unified, intelligent workspace.

Closing Thoughts

Adam’s vision for IceWarp reflects a broader industry trend: collaboration platforms must evolve into intelligent ecosystems that balance innovation with trust. As AI, automation, and data sovereignty reshape enterprise IT, IceWarp’s strategy—rooted in flexibility, security, and interoperability—positions it as a strong alternative in a fragmented market.
