Cerra brings a record of scaling global brands, modernizing marketing, and connecting technology to human impact from her leadership roles at HPE, McAfee, Intel, and Alcatel-Lucent.
Veeam Software, the #1 global leader in Data Resilience, has announced the appointment of Allison Cerra as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Reporting directly to CEO Anand Eswaran, Cerra steps into the role with a mandate to drive Veeam’s global brand strategy and strengthen its position at the forefront of data protection and resilience in the AI era.
“Allison understands the intersection of technology and trust,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam. “She’s built brands that connect deeply with customers and teams that turn marketing into a growth engine. As Veeam enters its next phase of innovation — helping every organization trust its data to safely power AI — her leadership will be vital in telling that story to the world.”
“In a world where AI is reshaping what’s possible, data resilience isn’t just protection – it’s permission to innovate.”
– Allison Cerra, Chief Marketing Officer, Veeam Software
Cerra will oversee Veeam’s global marketing organization, including product marketing, demand generation, events, communications, and digital engagement. Her appointment comes as Veeam continues to expand its mission to help enterprises safeguard and mobilize their data to recover fast, adapt faster, and turn resilience into competitive advantage.
She succeeds Rick Jackson, who is retiring after a distinguished 40-year career and three-and-a-half years as Veeam’s CMO. Eswaran praised Jackson’s contributions, noting, “Rick elevated Veeam’s brand and modernized how we show up for customers and partners. We’re deeply grateful for his leadership.”
An award-winning marketer and futurist, Cerra’s career spans key leadership roles across enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and cloud innovation. At Alkami Technology, she led marketing transformation for a fast-growing fintech; at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, she guided the company’s digital-first go-to-market strategy during the pandemic; and at McAfee, she helped redefine the company’s brand identity after its separation from Intel.
Cerra’s arrival marks a strategic step in Veeam’s evolution toward AI-powered data resilience — an area where she believes the company’s purpose has never been clearer. “Veeam empowers organizations to trust their data completely, so they can move faster and with confidence,” she said. “I’m thrilled to join the company that is defining what resilience means in the age of AI.”
Veeam will showcase its latest innovations, including Veeam Data Platform v13 and the Veeam Recon Scanner, during the VeeamON Global Launch Virtual Event on November 19. The event will highlight how organizations can achieve next-level resilience and data security for the AI-driven enterprise.
